Take the good, take the bad...

The Bad: So on Saturday we had plans to meet our friends, the Liberatores at Chuck E Cheese to let the boys play together - Anderson & Niko use to play together every day at 'school' but now we've parted ways with that childcare provider and the boys are at different schools now. Any way, we were very excited about our date with them and would be getting in the car pretty much right after naptime. Unfortunately we were unable to make our commitment - Anderson woke up from his nap on the absolute 'wrong' side of the bed. He was so mean and refused to talk to me, demanding Mark (who was out on an errand) - at any rate, given that Chuck E Cheese was all for him, we made the decision to sit this one out - I'm not going to 'reward' him immediately after he was so disrespectful. Oh well, mean mean mom. Please tell me friends, that you've had to do the same thing with your precious little 'angels'? What really stinks is that we really wanted to spend time with them too, oh the sacrifices we have to make as parents!!! Anyway, we stayed in, played puzzles and put the boys to bed a little early keeping in mind the crazy busy Sunday we had planned.

The Good: Sunday was a jammed pack day full of fun. After church we headed home to 'regroup' then headed to the Tides game in the rain, fortunately Kevin scored the NS box, so us ladies got to socialize 'inside' the whole time. From there, we headed to Alexander's 5th bday party. It was raining & yucky outside, but the kids had a blast! Eventhough Anderson hardly spoke at the party, he's been talking lots about the fun party he went to! Most exciting is that Anderson's new pet goldfish "Nemo" is still alive and kickin! (original name, ay?)

Some random photos:

Anderson brought a worm into the house - the kicker - the worm was dead!!

Carter after a yummy meal of chicken noodle 'something' in a jar!

being precious

fun with Daddy at the Tides game!

You're a GOOD mommy. It is so hard to make those tough decisions...the things that actually end up being more inconvient on you as a parent, but you know it's the right call for the child. A lesson learned the hard way!!! Sunday was full, but fun wasn't it? We have a Nemo at our house too, by the way! What a strange coincidence!

And we have Nemo number 3, although it was called Dorothy for a short period of time! I love the pic of Anderson smiling so innocently. You're not a mean mommy, you're a good mommy and he'll remember that when you say it - you mean it, even if you have to take Chuck E Cheese away! Sunday was a fun day, glad we got to spend it all with you!

Sweet pictures! Being mommy is just plain tough some days! I'm sure you made a lasting impression though. I am starting to realize that Hunter at 3 is far more difficult than he was at 2. Of course, Hannah isn't 2 just yet and she's already giving me a run for my money! Sounds like quite the Nemo club up there in VA! Hunter's wearing a Nemo shirt today - does that count since we don't have a real fish in the house?

Heather - We were so sad to have missed you on Saturday, but it is totally understood. The funny thing is - I tell Niko - "You're going to have consequences to your actions. What do you chose to be bad or to be good?" Now he says that line before I even can! Funny huh? We hope to get together with you all soon. Maybe dinner at our house in the next week or two? Or - maybe we can bring dinner to you all! We'll be in touch. We miss the little guys and can't wait to see them soon!

you are a GOOD mommy Heather! it is so hard sometimes making these decisions but he'll be better for it in the end. these little ones are so precious but we quickly learn they can really turn on you in no time. good for you for choosing what was best for him and not what would've been more fun to do. that is SO hard!!!

Strong mommy...I know it hurt your heart, but it will serve you both well in the long run. Greyson's Nintendo has disappeared indefinately until he learns to be more obedient. Oh well. And yes, Sunday was a blast. Rain, what rain?!?!?!

It's hard when those decisions don't just affect them. We have had a fun family outing planned adn cancelled due to bad behavior. All of our sweet angels lose their halos from time to time!!
