Word Verification Craziness

OK all of you high security blogger friends - Someone may have to loan me their magnifying glass to key in the crazy letters required to let me comment on your blog. I keep entering in the wrong letters and I'd like to think it's a function of the computer application and NOT the blogger (me)! All of this in good fun, but is it just me or the letters are getting harder and harder to detect? (you'll notice that I declined to turn on the word verification!)

Matching!!!!!!!

I'm so excited that Carter is getting old enough where I can start dressing the boys alike (sometimes). Today was the boys first day dressing alike. Anderson LOVED dressing like his baby brother. Now I just have to buy Mark the same shirt! Sunday morning just may get a bit easier now.... (we'll see about that!)

this was my favorite, but its FUZZY - ARGH!!!

A Day at the Zoo

We ventured to the Norfolk Zoo yesterday with our friends Mike & Niko. Unfortunately Roseann wasn't feeling that great, so she & Tony weren't able to make it. It was a PERFECT day for the zoo - not too hot, but just hot enough! Niko & Anderson had a great time catching up and checking out the animals.

Return to the Blogosphere!

I'm back!!!!! Been quite busy with life and blogging hasn't been a priority, but I'm back now and ready to blog away!

Last weekend we took a trip to Atlanta - it was kind of a whirlwind trip but we got to see my family, Mark's older brother's family and several friends. All in all the boys were well behaved and we even got to attend our friend's little Drew's 1st bday party!

We finally got to meet one of my dearest friends' little boys - this is Caren holding her little William (6months) and my little Carter. We had lunch with Caren and her husband and for some reason Anderson was on his WORST behavior. It really stinks b/c they've only hung out with Anderson a couple times so they don't know how good he can be (sometimes.....)

Anderson (aka Spiderman) and Evan - they had a blast with this Spiderman mask!

Carter loved playing with all of Drew's toys!!! He especially loved pulling himself up on this one.

Anderson could have played with Evan's baseball tee for hours upon hours. I need to remember this for his bday......

Here is little Drew enjoying his bday cake!! Happy Birthday little guy!
Carter even has to suck on his fingers while swinging! I think we are going to have one hard time breaking this kid of his beloved fingers!!!!!!!!

Poor little Nemo....

Well it will be a difficult morning tomorrow explaining to Anderson that dear little Nemo won't be joining him at breakfast. Since Nemo's water was quite 'murky', we changed his water tonite and apparently that was not a good idea.... So Mark tells me he is going to put Nemo in the disposal .... UGH -NOOOOOOOO!!! Please please please put him down the potty! Mark asks me "what's the difference"? Yucko, can you imagine the disposal 'taking care' of Nemo?????? Oh, these men sometimes! ; ) We'll miss you little Nemo!

Deep Thoughts from Anderson

For my benefit, I've decided to start jotting down funny Anderson sayings (& one day Carter sayings). I'm going to find a way to start keeping a tally of these on my blog, but for now - here is the first teaser. I'm not going to include the context, b/c I think they'll be more fun without. Please don't feel obliged to comment if you don't want.....

Anderson: "Mommy, you are getting tooooo heavy!!" 4.7.08

Take the good, take the bad...

The Bad: So on Saturday we had plans to meet our friends, the Liberatores at Chuck E Cheese to let the boys play together - Anderson & Niko use to play together every day at 'school' but now we've parted ways with that childcare provider and the boys are at different schools now. Any way, we were very excited about our date with them and would be getting in the car pretty much right after naptime. Unfortunately we were unable to make our commitment - Anderson woke up from his nap on the absolute 'wrong' side of the bed. He was so mean and refused to talk to me, demanding Mark (who was out on an errand) - at any rate, given that Chuck E Cheese was all for him, we made the decision to sit this one out - I'm not going to 'reward' him immediately after he was so disrespectful. Oh well, mean mean mom. Please tell me friends, that you've had to do the same thing with your precious little 'angels'? What really stinks is that we really wanted to spend time with them too, oh the sacrifices we have to make as parents!!! Anyway, we stayed in, played puzzles and put the boys to bed a little early keeping in mind the crazy busy Sunday we had planned.

The Good: Sunday was a jammed pack day full of fun. After church we headed home to 'regroup' then headed to the Tides game in the rain, fortunately Kevin scored the NS box, so us ladies got to socialize 'inside' the whole time. From there, we headed to Alexander's 5th bday party. It was raining & yucky outside, but the kids had a blast! Eventhough Anderson hardly spoke at the party, he's been talking lots about the fun party he went to! Most exciting is that Anderson's new pet goldfish "Nemo" is still alive and kickin! (original name, ay?)

Some random photos:

Anderson brought a worm into the house - the kicker - the worm was dead!!

Carter after a yummy meal of chicken noodle 'something' in a jar!

being precious

fun with Daddy at the Tides game!

Carter all bundled up at Alexander's bday party!

Carter, the climber?

I've always heard that as far as crawling goes - you have your climbers and your non-climbers. I was always amazed at friends' tales of their kids scaling the walls and their furniture. Anderson, obviously, was not classified as a climber -he always stayed on ground level. Carter, on the other hand, looks like he is turning into the little climber - most days I can find him on the bottom shelf on my baker's rack. He's still a crawling machine although his crawl isn't the traditional crawl, its the Judd style commando move.

Looks mischievous, doesn't he???

Easter 2008

Happy Easter 2008!! On Friday, Rebekah & Avery and my boys headed to Charlotte for a family weekend of fun with Mark's older brother's family. Mark & Paul headed down a couple hours later. This is our 2nd Easter in Charlotte - it's a full house, but a good time was had by all. Anderson just ADORES his cousins. It was 75 degrees in Charlotte on Saturday - PERFECTION!!!

Mark & Paul with their babes!
all the cousins prepping for the big Easter egg hunt!! (Saturday afternoon)
I found one!!
Poppa teaching Carter how to drink from a glass! (yes, he's still in his PJs!)

Its on the Market!!!! (finally)

I'm sure many friends & family gave up on us Judds ever putting our home on the market, but YES finally - it should be officially listed in the next day or two!!!! By Friday there should be a sign in my yard & a lockbox on the door!!! If you know of anyone looking for a 3BR, 2.5bath home on a golfcourse - please send them our way (bargain deal $330K)!!! We have loved our home and this is the only home our boys have known, but we are BUSTING at the seams!!!! The hunt is officially on for us to find a new home now!!!! By the way, we're trying to sell it by ourselves first... (though we will be listed on MLS too)

How NOT to update your blog....

Well, it had been along time since I had 'spiced' up my blog, so I'm sure you've noticed the changed template, etc. Well in changing the background I managed to wipe out all of my page elements. I think I too eagerly clicked 'OK'..... Oh well, I'll build it back as time allows. I'm not sure I like it yet, but change is good, right?

I saw this saying on a billboard recently and thought it funny:
"Change is inevitable, except from vending machines"

Jamie, this one is for you!!!!

Wanted to point you friends to another friend's blog posting about organization. You will NOT believe this girl's scrapbooking "center". Check it out!!!!!

Carter @ 9 months

We had Carter's 9month well baby visit today. He did great and only had to get 2 shots & a finger prick. He weighed in at 20lb 3oz (50%ile) and 29.5in long (90%ile).... When we were going over the foods he can eat at what times, he told me no peanut butter or nuts of anykind til 3 years old (what???). I know other doctors in the practice do not necessarily subscribe to that - I think Anderson was allowed to have peanut butter after 1 year, though I think I waited til closer to 2yrs. Curious - what does your doctor say about peanut butter?

Can you imagine no PBJs until 3 years old - are you kidding me?

Carter thinking about PBJs.....
(really he is enjoying yogurt for one of the 1st times....)

Here are pictures from my baptism today. Thanks for all the support from friends during this special day!

Anderson asked me if I went looking for dolphins went I was dunked...... well, no buddy!!!

'Bout Time!!!!

I think I've shared with a couple friends that on Sunday (March 2nd) I'm getting baptized!! I was baptized as a child in the Episcopal church (sprinkled). I've been making excuses the last couple of years about getting baptized (never enough time, blah blah blah) - but when I saw the 'Baptism Class' advertised in the church bulletin on Sunday I decided enough excuses! Besides the obvious public profession of faith, Anderson will get to attend my baptism and I am excited that my procrastination has an amazing purpose. How awesome will it be to have my 3 year old witness my baptism! As we talk more and more to Anderson about obedience, I want to set an example for him. So to church buddies, I'll be immersed at the 9:30 service - see you on the big screen!!!!

Backwards

Ok so most of you have seen the many underwear shots, but did you know that Anderson can usually be found sportin his underoos BACKWARDS??? At least he has perfectly sound logic - the picture is on the hiney afterall and he wants to see the picture!!! Makes sense to me. I've been meaning to blog about this for awhile but didn't have the corresponding pics!! Enjoy!

Don't think you can tell, but Spiderman is 'front & center!'

This is the best part - the hiney shot!!! Often times he has a wedgy!!!

One Word

I'm not sure I've ever blogged much about work, if at all, but most know that I work 3 days a week (now a 4th day from home) for NS. Most days I love my job. Pre-Anderson & Carter I was totally career focused gal, having my boys has changed my perspective quite a bit. I love the 2 days at home I get to spend with my boys - I get my 'stay at home mom' fix and I still have a foot in Corporate America. Anyone who knows me knows that I stay quite confused about my work-life balance and in which direction I want it to sway. Most days I think I have figured that this half-life thing I've got going on is perfect for my family. I don't think I could stay home 5 days a week, but LOVE LOVE LOVE that my work has enabled me to spend 2 days at home - I have the perfect balance though I'm usually reluctant to admit that....

At any rate, I attended a "Networking" session at lunch on Wednesday afternoon - literally, it was a session on how to become a better 'networker'. It was actually one of the best sessions I've ever been to - I actually left with a renewed energy. During the event, we were challenged to describe ourselves with 15 words.... Ok, not too hard. Then, we were challenged to encapsulate who we are in ONE WORD. Pretty hard to do. I pondered and pondered and pondered (all within 3 minutes or so) and started thinking about all the people in my life and what would be the one word they would agree on to describe me.....

1) my parents would definitely agree
2) my brother would agree
3) grandparents would agree
4) most teachers & professors would agree
5) my high-school soccer coach who called me his "coach on the field" would agree
6) my high-school cheerleading coach & squad voted me most this.....
7) my husband would likely agree
8) close friends would agree
9) peers at work would agree
10) my boss would definitely agree
11) and hopefully, most importantly, my Lord & Savior would agree

that I am, SPIRITED!!!!

Do you agree? Now, I challenge my blogging friends to find that one word that YOU feel best describes you, and please please please share in your blog!!!!! So to all the loyal bloggers, that means you Jen, Jamie, Sue, Katy, Beth, Natalie, Rebekah, and so on!!!!! I can't wait to hear about your ONE WORD!!!!

Roses are Red, and Pink & Yellow

Happy Valentines Day ( a few days belated).

Mark & I celebrated a day early to beat the crowds & Uncle Paul & Aunt Rebekah watched the boys. I've been known to snub Olive Garden in the past (we had an amazing local italian eatery in ATL that put OG to shame), but I have to apologize to the OG for my snub. We went there for our Valentine's dinner and boy was it AMAZING!!! Both our meals were fantastic and we enjoyed a fantastic tiramisu & coffee. I can't wait til the next time I can go back to the OG!! Oh, check out the awesome blossoms my sweet hubby bought me!!

On Thursday we watched my niece Avery (4mo) - we got her doing some 'prop sitting'. Look at my little ham Carter cheesin' it up for the camera!

boys and remote controls

If I looked hard enough I'm sure I could find a picture of Mark and Anderson both kissing the remote control too! This just proves boys' addiction to the remote control begins at a very very early age!! couldn't resist! : )
